The inspiration behind the rosary :
The Our Lady with blue bead rosary is a beautiful and meaningful devotional piece inspired by the apparition at Knock Co. Mayo, Ireland in August of 1879.
At around 8:00 PM on a wet evening, local people witnessed a miraculous vision on the gable wall of the parish church. The vision lasted for about two hours and was silent throughout. Standing at the center Our Lady stood, in an attitude of prayer, her hands raised toward heaven, with her eyes looking upward.
The vision was seen by men, women, and children, all of whom provided consistent testimonies. Despite the heavy rain that evening, the apparition and the gable wall remained completely dry.
The Catholic Church conducted investigations into the apparition and in 1936 the Vatican officially recognized the testimonies of the witnesses as trustworthy. Knock is now a major pilgrimage site, attracting over one million pilgrims annually. It has also been visited by multiple Popes, including Pope John Paul II in 1979 and Pope Francis in 2018.
