Many people of Irish decent retain a strong sense of their Irish heritage. This piece gives the opportunity to own a cherished piece of Ireland with the genuine Connemara Marble and Irish sterling silver.
Here we have taken the image of our patron Saint – St. Patrick who is celebrated all over the world on March 17th every year to custom our coasters.
Born in Britain around 389 AD the young Patrick was captured as a slave and spent six lonely years in Ireland. After escaping back to his family he studied to become a priest. In a dream Patrick heard the Irish calling him to return and preach the gospel. He returned to Ireland in 432AD. Patrick is said to have used the three leafed shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity – the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The saint is also attributed to banishing the snakes from our island. He is probably one of the best known Saints around the world especially on his feast day March 17th.
This set comprises of four square coasters. Each coaster is unique, displaying the many natural shades of green in the grain of the marble.
The underside of each coaster is felted to help prevent scratches and marks to the surface. Completely treatment free all we use is natural beeswax to bring out the high polish of the marble. There is quite the conversation to be had around your table with these genuine marble coasters.
Made with Ireland’s 900 million year old gemstone these Connemara Marble coasters truly are a piece of Ireland.
Hand lifted from our quarry in Lissoughter, Recess Co.Galway in the most majestic region of Ireland they are 100% Irish made.
