“An Paidrin Beag” translates from Irish to the “Little Rosary” . This is a single decade, handmade Irish rosary with oval shaped Connemara marble beads.
The piece is a replica of the kind used in Ireland during the Penal days when the Catholic faith was outlawed. The Connemara marble rosary is 10″ long with a silver tone Celtic cross crucifix along with metal links and keyring.

This rosary key chain is a very personal, single decade of the Rosary. The piece dates back to the Penal times when it was forbidden to practice the Catholic faith in Ireland. This suppression only served to increase the faith of the Irish people. Priests lived in hiding and Mass was celebrated on the open hillsides. People found more and more ways of continuing their devotions without being detected.
“An Paidrin Beag” is one result of the people’s determined ingenuity. Made from genuine Connemara Marble hand lifted from our quarry in Lissoughter, Recess Co. Galway. We are proud to have been hand crafting rosary beads here in Ireland since 1945.
