This is a deeply symbolic piece of Irish Jewelry created by Stephen Walsh. Whilst visiting Dublin’s National Gallery Stephen was inspired to create this iconic pendant by two particular pieces of art.
“The Immaculate Conception” painted in the early 1660’s by Francisco de Zurbarán and “Virgin Child” painted by Mario Palmezzano in 1513.
Both pictures depict the timeless image of the Blessed Mother and in the latter she appears to stand, framed within the gates of heaven. Taking our natural gemstone Connemara Marble as the featured stone, we have claw set the green marble within hallmarked sterling silver.
Intricate silver work constructs the eternal image of Our Lady as she stands at the gate of Heaven. The iconography is timeless and is deeply personal. This is a limited edition piece of heirloom jewelry that will be passed from generation to generation.
Combining natural beauty with spiritual strength this is a piece to be cherished.
