The Tara Brooch takes its name from the Hill of Tara in Ireland where the High Kings were crowned. A warrior Queen would wear it to pin her cloak at the shoulder. It was believed to keep the wearer safe in the midst of battle. The beautifully ornamented original can be seen in the National Museum of Ireland.
Finished in gold tone over brass, this little brooch captures the look of an old Irish treasure in an easy-to-wear design. Pin it to a jacket, scarf, hat or bag for a subtle touch of Celtic heritage.
