St. Christopher is one of the most popular saints and is known as the patron saint of travellers, in particular soldiers and sailors. Many of us will hang a St. Christopher’s medal in our car to bring us safely on our every day journeys.
This is a small, handcrafted pendant with the image of St. Christopher carrying a child over a river. The story goes that with every step he took the weight of the child increased but he persisted and took the child safely to the other side. It is said that the child then identified himself as Christ and that Christopher had just borne the weight of the world.
