This substantial sterling silver ring features an original Irish threepence coin, once part of everyday life in Ireland and traditionally associated with the old custom of Irish luck money. Each coin has its own date and history, beautifully framed by classic Irish shamrock detailing.

The old Irish threepence, affectionately known as the “thrupenny bit,” once formed part of everyday life in Ireland. Ireland introduced the coin in 1928, and it remained in circulation until 1971. Its distinctive design features the much-loved Irish hare.

Just imagine where your coin may have traveled. It may have been carried in a pocket for years. It may even have changed hands as a token of good luck. We will never know its full story. That mystery makes each ring even more special.

Every coin still carries its original date on the reverse. We therefore cannot offer a choice of year. We select each ring individually from the genuine vintage coins available.
