Our Fairy Tree Silver Connemara Marble earrings are hand crafted with highly polished pieces of Connemara Marble set within a sterling silver casing.
The front of the earrings are cut into shapes depicting the famous Fairy Trees of Ireland, can you see the Connemara marble peaking through the branches? The back of the earrings left open to reveal the full piece of marble.
There are many fairy trees to be found along the roadside and in the fields of Ireland. Usually they are old hawthorn, oak or ash trees many of which can be hundreds of years old. It is said that the fairies live in these trees! In fact we have our own fairy tree on our quarry in Lissoughter Co. Galway.
The trees are a meeting point for the “wee folk” – the leprechauns and fairies who live nearby and the locals will say that they often hear music and singing on a quiet evening. It is said that a fairy tree will bring good luck and great care must be taken not to damage or destroy one of these magical trees.

Our sterling silver is hallmarked in the Dublin Assay Office which is located in Dublin Castle.
Each pair of earrings comes with a story card explaining the Fairy Tree Folklore.
They are presented on a shepherd’s hook and the full drop measures 2.5cm with a width of .7cm and a weight of 1.6 grams.
