Their quirky habits and their helpful taste for garden pests and gentle nature make them a firm favourite with animal lovers. They are also credited with predicting the weather. A hedgehog seen out of hibernation on St. Brigid’s Day, (1st February), is said to be a good sign of pleasant weather to come!
