Description
The first Irish rosary beads were made using simple stones or animal horns. The peace and tranquility found in the recitation of prayer has brought calm and reflection to generations for centuries. This unique handmade rosary is inspired by many aspects from The Book of Kells.
The cross is a replica of the High Cross at the Monastery of Iona. This is where The Book of Kells was created around 800 AD. The source of colours used in the Book were taken from rare plants and minerals such as indigo (blue/purple), orcien (purple) and orpiment (yellow) and are reflected in the beads.
These beads are an heirloom piece and make a very special gift. Presented within a hinged gift box and with a story card.
