The Trinity Knot or Triquetra has become known in modern times as a Celtic Symbol of Love.
You will often hear a bride being advised to wear “something blue” on her wedding day. A spiritual colour, blue is said to bring intuition, inspiration and inner peace. This is why we chose the stunning blue Lapis Gemstone to fit within this iconic, Trinity symbol. Lapis is known to be a gemstone of energy and positivity.
The three interlocking points of the Trinity have been interpreted in many ways, one of which is that it was inspired by the Celtic belief of the importance of the Earth, Sea and Sky and the Lunar and Solar phases. You can see that here we have handcrafted the sun, moon and stars with the Trinity Knot being the central connection.
The Celts were very familiar with the idea of the trinity. The combination of the knot into rings, linens, jewelry and other designs is associated with eternity and eternal love. The Trinity Knot is also said to represent the three promises of a relationship – Love, Honor and Protection. Trinity Knot designs are found all over our island on our ancient Celtic Crosses and ancient monastic sites still standing in Ireland today.
